About 300 minis drive through Combe Martin!
Mini after mini but my film ran out, click on the link to see some of them but it is a big file which is more suitable for broadband users!
It was all in aid of charity!

Combe Martin Carnival pictures for 2006

I see there have been a lot of searches on the web for people asking the search engines for pictures of this years carnival, well here are some, so fill ya boots and cop an eye full of this lot me old sweet hearts!
Please note that for copyright reasons all these photos are actors I have paid to play the part of the actual people that were in the carnival, filming took place in Russia rather than Combe Martin and the high street including the church was totally remodeled using Swiss cheese and cardboard.
I know it would have been cheaper for me to just use the original pictures but you know what people are like, I would probably get sued for showing someone's backside from the wrong angle!

Me on the beach

Me on the beach with a shiny bald head, worse for drink, I must need my bed,
The raft race is starting in the sea that's so cold,
the fearless rafters, so brave and so bold.
*
Dressed as pirates, dancers and slaves,
they paddles their rafts across icey grey waves,
Hear the crowds laugh, hear the crowds scream,
a big cheer is heard for the wet winning team!

Union Jack
The Union Jack fly's over a fishing smackin a breeze coming in from the sea,
I sit on the dock sucking some rock
just my dog, a seagull and me.
*
I said sucking some rock you silly ladies, you know, the pink sweet stick with the seaside Town name embedded in it......I don't know, some people have a one track mind!

World record Marsh Mellow

I was lucky to see the worlds biggest marsh mellow being tossed into the sky this week , if you look closely you can just about see the McTavish family moments before the marsh mellow came down to earth and covered the poor souls. Three hours later the McTavish family managed to eat their way out of the sticky mess, Granny McTavish who unfortunately lost her false teeth during the heroic escape but put on about thirteen pound in weight was heard to say "I told them there was too much sugar in it but they would not listen".
The local coast guard said "What a stupid bloody idea to make it so big so it would not fly, just look at the mess we now have to clear up, it's a man made disaster!"

Combe Martin Wheel Barrow Race
Hello folks! I am back now, sorry but the Queen invited me to tea and one thing led to another and the next thing I am having to entertain the Royal family at Windsor castle for a week!Just thought I would post a picture showing you the fun that was had at the wheel barrow race on the last night of the Carnival, the evening ended with fireworks on the beach, a BBQ and live music.
Oh what jolly fun!
Anyway, I must get some cakes baked now, the Queen thought so much of my Victoria sponge cake that she wants a dozen more! (hope she pays me this time, what with the price of eggs these days!)

Combe Martin Raft Race

Hello folks!I will not be able to blog for a week but when I return I will post lots of more photos and a film about the Combe Martin Carnival but in the meantime I am posting these photos that were taken by Rene a local "top class super dooper' photographer who's site is at http://www.exmoormedia.co.uk/ where you can see lots more of his lovely shots.
It has been a great Carnival week with lots of music, booze, food and laughter, well done for all those who entertained us.
Sorry but I must get some beauty sleep now (a couple of years sleep should do the job!)
Bye for now
Love and big wet kisses
Martin

Combe Martin Babies

Combe Martins carnival week started on Saturday at Hollands Park, my son Jake and his friend Tom entered the wheel barrow race dressed as babies, they were so glad that not many of their friends saw them dressed like this. Do you think that you and the rest of the worlds 6 billion people can keep this photo a secret from them?
PS This was the junior race, the adult wheelbarrow race will be held this coming Friday evening and you will see all sort of people dressed in all sorts of outfits pushing barrows down the two mile course from the top of the village down to the sea.

What a lot of pretty colours!

Just after I took this photo a huge UFO hovered in front of me, a little green man wound down his window and asked me the best way to Neptune from here. I told him to avoid Mars due to the road works and take the scenic route via Saturn (I know a lot of you will argue that it is a longer route but taking the Mars way is an absolute pig of a journey right now with the holiday season)
The green man thanked me, wound up his window and was gone before you could say "what noise annoys an oyster, a noisy noise annoys and oyster"
I could have kicked myself though, just as he shot off I noticed that one of his back lights was not working, I wish I could have told him, poor little guy.
Anyway, a couple of seconds later and I would have got a perfect photo of the spaceship.
This story is the TRUTH, it actually happened.

Combe Martin Carnival

Can you spot the face of a man looking at me when I took the photo? Is it a spooky face from times gone by? Looked at last years Carnival photos and the mans face just stared out at me.
It is the start of the Carnival this Saturday with BBQ and bands on the beach, raft races, wheel barrow races for two miles down the High Street, the carnival float, the carnival queen night etc etc.
Why not come and join in the weeks activities?
I will keep you posted with lots of photos.
Chat to you soon!
Bye
